Jay S. Kenoff, Esq., formerly of the boutique entertainment law firm of Kenoff & Machtinger, LLP, continues his transactional entertainment law practice under the name of the Law Offices of Jay S. Kenoff after his partner Leonard Machtinger retired in 2017. Before Mr. Kenoff joined with Mr. Machtinger in the founding of his own law firm, his prior legal affiliations were prestigious, Los Angeles powerhouse law firms of Bushkin, Kopelson, Gaims & Gaines and Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel.

Background
Mr. Kenoff has worked at the highest levels of motion picture and television production and distribution companies, co-authored a treatise on all aspects of motion picture production, financing and distribution for a major legal publication publisher, and prepared numerous articles in the areas of motion pictures, television, and intellectual property rights.
Mr. Kenoff has provided services to individual artists, writers, directors, producers, and production companies in transactions, including with banks and financiers, especially in connection with entertainment industry financing transactions. Mr. Kenoff has prepared and negotiated financing and security documents for entertainment industry loan transactions, such as those required in connection with motion picture production.

Brief Biography
Mr. Kenoff is a Harvard Law School educated attorney (JD, ’70). Upon law school graduation, he served in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a JAGC attorney rising to rank of Commander. Upon leaving the Navy, Mr. Kenoff pursued his civilian legal career with big law firm experience at prestigious Beverly Hills law firms Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel and Bushkin, Kopelson, Gaims and Gaines before forming his own firm of Kenoff & Machtinger in 1986.
